About

Summer Blast

Summer Blast, Your Camp Ministry Adventure,  is for all kids...

who will enter 3rd-6th grade this fall (campers must be at least 8 years old by July 1, 1999). It is a 5-day, 4-night camp planned, cooperatively organized, and run by members of various Christian Churches of the Pacific Northwest who concur with the ACNA Statement of Faith (which can be accessed at www.anglicanchurch.net/index.php/main/Theology).                                      Our all-volunteer staff consists of Christian adults who have been individually qualified through an application process and background check. Each is  committed to make this camp experience safe and meaningful for each and every camper. It is our desire to share with them the daily reality of our faith in the context of a camping program designed with them specifically in mind

Our program takes place at CAMP WOOTEN, an Environmental Learning Center established by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to provide youth with a place to enjoy nature and to study the enironment. This facility is tucked in the beautiful surroundings of the Blue Mountains alongside the Tucannon River.  Camp Wooten has safe hiking trails, an indoor swimming pool, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, ball fields, and a small lake

Our Camp
This Year's Theme

Our 2019 theme, HEART of the LION, will take campers through C.S. Lewis' book, "The Horse And His Boy," the story of young Shasta and his talking horse, Bree, and their new runaway acquaintances, Aravis, and her horse, Hwin.

As they adventurously  leave their lives of slavery in pursuit of true freedom and identity, important challenges and decisions will be made.                                                                    True freedom and identity do not come from a change of situation but a wisened and humbled change of heart...
